This Expedition takes you into a journey from the present to the past of Baja California Sur.
The Southern Cape Expedition travels from Los Cabos to the state-capital-city of La Paz, by way of Todos Santos. La Paz is arguably the most picturesque of Mexico’s 31 state capitals and one of the most beautiful cities in the entire country. La Paz offers world-class fishing, desolate beaches, friendly locals, and warm Gulf waters which attract divers and kayaking fanatics from around the world. Opportunities to snorkel at Los Islotes are spectacular, on the extreme north of the bay, where scores of friendly sea lions await onlookers. The Humvee caravan then continues to the East Cape and Punta Pescadero for more diving, kayaking and fishing, and spends the night before returning to the Los Cabos area via the semi-tropical town of Santiago.
Day 1: The Baja Outback staff Welcome You To Baja! Upon arrival at the Los Cabos International Airport, guests are transferred to their designated hotel. Enjoy a “welcome dinner” with the Baja Outback Nature-Guide and Trip Director who will subsequently introduce the Southern Cape Expedition, issue a guide kit with informational packets about the beautiful Baja and its habitats, maps, and an outline of what will take place in the next few days during the expedition. D
Day 2: Beginning in San Jose del Cabo, the expedition of Humvees in caravan using radio communications will venture north to Todos Santos before ultimately arriving in La Paz. Todos Santos was originally the heart of sugar cane farming in the region, and once a Jesuit Mission. Today, Todos Santos is a bustling, artistic community with small bed and breakfast hotels, collections of art galleries, and gourmet restaurants. Additionally, Todos Santos has recently been deemed a “Magic Town” by the Mexican government because it has something cultural to offer to the entire world. After Todos Santos, the expedition continues to La Paz for an evening of rest and relaxation. B, L, D

Day 3: The eco-adventure of snorkeling at Los Islotes will be a real treat for each and every participant. The eco-system at Los Isoltes is one of the most unique on the planet; abundant with various forms of sea life and home to an abundance of endemic marine, land, plant, and animal species. After snorkeling, the Baja Outback caravan will traverse along the coastline cliffs, maneuvering over rugged terrain to the East Cape, finally arriving in Punta Pescadero. This area possesses some of the most pristine beaches in the Cape region while offering an assortment of eco-activities such as: kayaking, diving, and fishing. Cabo Pulmo is within close proximity and we will make a visit to this protected marine park, which just happens to house the only living corral reef in the Northern Western Hemisphere. We will overnight in Punta Pescadero. B, L, D
Day 4: Consisting of an early morning swim in the Sea of Cortez before heading south to the semi-tropical town of Santiago, right below the Tropic of Cancer. This gateway to the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains is lush with plant-life, mountain streams, waterfalls, and excellent hiking. The combination of cactus and brilliant green palm trees and vegetation will definitely intrigue and capture the interest of all participants. After a brief Santiago tour, the group will arrive in San Jose del Cabo for the final rest night before departure the following morning at the Los Cabos International Airport. B, L
Day 5: The Baja Outback staff wishes all a wonderful farewell, sharing breakfast before the departure at the Los Cabos International Airport for all flights back home! Adios and Gracias! B
