This tour will take you back 20 millon years!
Each participant has an opportunity to drive an H2 Humvee during the expedition, and all vehicles are equipped with a radio communication system. All Baja Outback expeditions are designed to be a learning experience, through interactions with the natural surroundings, ensuring the utmost safety while providing the most comfortable riding conditions for participants.
The East Cape is certainly one of the best kept secrets in the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula. Baja Outback unearths the mysteries of the East Cape in a variety of discoveries and are accompanied by bilingual nature specialists. You will begin the 8-hour expedition through vast mountain ranges, while occasionally passing farmsteads and sleepy villages along the way. The breathtaking canyons provide the rare chance for you to examine the unusual geologic strata formations dating from the Cretaceous Period (80 million years ago) to the Late Miocene Epoch (15 million years ago). The Nature Specialist will explain how and why these formations came to exist in southern Baja.

Another brief stop will include a visit to the “Rancho Lengua de Buey ” located in the middle of a dried-out riverbed. Farm animals abound, the family is self-sufficient, allowing you the opportunity to observe how early settlers lived in the desolate Baja. However, the collection of fossils that this family has acquired through the years of exploration of the canyons and mountain ranges, is even more astonishing. A Megalodon tooth is just one of the many thousands of fossils, teeth, and artifacts they maintain.
Ultimately, you will arrive in a caravan of self-driven Humvees at the beaches located close to Cabo Pulmo. Kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming is an unparalleled experience in Los Arbolitos but water-activities is not only what Cabo Pulmo has to offer. Beneath the surface of the Sea of Cortez, lies the only living corral reef in the Northern Western Hemisphere!
