Can you imagine waterfalls in the middle of the desert?

Each participant has an opportunity to drive an H2 Humvee during the expedition, and all vehicles are equipped with a radio communication system. All Baja Outback expeditions are designed to be a learning experience, through interactions with the natural surroundings, ensuring the utmost safety while providing the most comfortable riding conditions for participants.

Participants drive north in a caravan in search of waterfalls and the warm waters from an underground, natural spring. Along the way, various stop-points of interest will be made in some of the more interesting towns.

The first stop is in Miraflores, where participants can observe traditional wood carving and leather-making processes. Not only is Miraflores ample with hand-crafted goods, but it sits at the base of a semi-tropical canyon range. Palm trees are abundant, colorful flowers bloom year-round, and the town is quaint and traditional.

Participants will readily view fields of mangos, corn, papaya, citrus and banana trees before reaching Santiago. Once in Santiago, stops include the natural spring, a visit to the mission site called Santiago de Los Coras founded in 1721, and hiking. Participants will encounter a stream of fresh water and containing enormous granite rocks that are unique to the Baja region.

Participants will depart from Santiago just in time for lunch, where they will be hosted at the El Palomar Restaurant for a delightful, three-course meal. And finally, picture-taking possibilities at the monument which stands as the Tropic of Cancer is a favorite. Participants will literally be able to feel the shifting patterns of warm winds heading north, colliding with the cool winds moving south.
